Following the resignation of Ayersville Local Board of Education vice president Brad Morrison earlier this month, the board met in a special executive session Wednesday evening and named a new board member. Lanie Lambert will serve effectively immediately until Dec. 31. If Lambert wants to continue serving on the school board after Dec. 31, he will have to file in the general election in November. Also at this week’s meeting, the board approved the updated resignation date of superintendent Tod Hug effective April 12. Hug was offered a contract to serve as interim superintendent effective April 13 until a replacement can be found. Hug was hired as Liberty Center Local Schools’ superintendent with a starting date of April 13.
